Job summary

Boston Scientific is seeking an R&D Technician II to support testing, maintenance, and lab operations in the Packaging Engineering Laboratory. You’ll perform packaging tests, help validate methods, and assist with equipment troubleshooting while contributing to process improvements.

The role requires strong mechanical aptitude, hands-on problem solving, and the ability to work independently in a lab setting. Onsite work five days a week in Minnesota.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent is required.
• Minimum 2 years in a laboratory, manufacturing, quality, engineering support, or technical environment.
• Ability to follow detailed procedures and work independently.
• Strong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills.
• Experience using hand tools, measurement equipment, and basic shop equipment.
• Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, manuals, and procedures.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications.
• Strong organizational and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Perform packaging and product testing in accordance with procedures and standards.
• Collect, document, and organize test data to support projects and regulatory needs.
• Assist engineers with test method validations and equipment qualifications.
• Prepare samples, fixtures, and equipment for testing activities.
• Support scheduling and prioritization of testing requests.
• Perform routine preventive maintenance on laboratory equipment.
• Troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, and pneumatic issues on testing systems.
• Diagnose equipment failures and coordinate repairs as needed.
• Assemble, modify, and repair test fixtures and laboratory tooling.
• Interpret technical drawings and support 5S/safety initiatives.
