Job summary

Philips in San Diego invites motivated undergraduates and graduates for a 3-6 month paid internship in Image Guided Therapy (IGT). You will help design and test next-generation cardiovascular devices, including guidewires and IVUS catheters; prototype concepts and establish clinically relevant test methods.

The role emphasizes collaboration with cross-functional teams, learning the product development lifecycle, design controls, and risk management, with hands-on bench-top work and in-person

Qualifications

• Pursuing BS or MS in Mechanical or Biomedical Engineering.
• Proficient in SolidWorks and 3D modeling.
• Experience with bench-top testing and fixture design.
• Familiarity with intravascular clinical workflows preferred.
• Ability to perform statistical analysis (DOE, Gauge R&R, Capability).

Responsibilities

• Contribute to design and development of guidewires and IVUS catheters.
• Prototype and test concepts and fixtures.
• Develop clinically relevant test methods and write protocols.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to learn product development lifecycle.
