Los Alamos National Laboratory (LANL) is seeking an early to mid-level R&D Mechanical Engineer to join the Detonation Science and Technology Group in Los Alamos, NM. You will help develop initiation systems for the W93 program, including design, testing, verification, and qualification activities across multiple project scales.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Engineering and 4 years related experience or an equivalent combination.
• Ability to read and interpret mechanical drawings and develop verification plans.
• Experience designing, fabricating, and testing products with statistical analysis.
• Proficiency with CAD tools (SolidWorks/CREO/Autodesk) and programming (MATLAB, C/C++).

Responsibilities

• Develop, design, test, and verify next generation initiation system components.
• Participate in small and large scale experiment design and fielding.
• Contribute to Phase X process, requirements development and verification methodologies.
• Lead test series and support component validation/verification efforts.
