Job summary

Retech Systems LLC in Buffalo, NY seeks a motivated R&D Engineering Intern to support process improvement in the R&D/Toll Melting department. You will collaborate with engineers on mechanical design concepts, update drawings and BOMs, and contribute to SOP development.

The role requires CAD experience (Autodesk Inventor preferred), knowledge of GD&T, and strong written/verbal communication. Internship or co-op experience is a plus, with opportunities to work closely with a skilled team.

Qualifications

• Currently enrolled in a B.S. in Mechanical Engineering from a four-year college or university.
• Experience using CAD software, preferably Autodesk Inventor or similarly capable software.
• Previous Internship/Co-op experience is preferred but not required.
• Strong communication and teamwork skills.

Responsibilities

• Assist in mechanical design concepts for R&D projects.
• Propose ideas and specifications to improve performance or robustness of equipment.
• Update drawings, P&IDs, and generate BOMs for release to manufacturing.
• Track part manufacturing progress and provide engineering support.
• Assist CAD of subassemblies.
• Develop SOPs for melting processes.
• Produce high-quality reports, proposals, and manuals.
• Troubleshoot subsystem components of melting equipment.
• Provide status reports on milestones and task changes.
• Review process data to understand system environments and specs.
