Qualifications

• Typically requires a bachelor's, master's or PhD in engineering with 4+ years (bachelors) or 2+ years (masters).
• Hands-on experience with composite and metallic airframe fabrication and assembly.
• Strong understanding of engineering concepts, principles, codes and theory.
• Ability to quickly understand new concepts, organize work phases, and provide solutions.
• Excellent communication, documentation and interpersonal skills; leadership ability.
• Ability to obtain and maintain DoD Clearance.

Responsibilities

• Provide manufacturing engineering support to GA-ASI programs such as one-off builds and pod assemblies.
• Function as a program-centered Manufacturing Engineer.
• Devise and implement manufacturing and tooling solutions for projects.
• Interface with multi-disciplinary teams to execute project objectives.
• Provide tooling and part estimates for manufacturing efforts.
• Lead tooling acquisition and implementation for respective projects.
• Oversee on-the-floor support for part manufacturing and composite assembly.
• Coordinate metrology of parts, assemblies, and tooling.
• Design and incorporate shop aids to facilitate manufacturing.
• Author and incorporate manufacturing work instructions.
• Lead or participate in continuous improvement activities.
• May support new process development activities.
• Maintain confidentiality and observe laws and obligations.
• Work safely following established procedures.
