Job summary

The role involves fabricating, assembling, installing, and testing moderately complex prototype equipment and RF sensors, with data collection and analysis as part of ongoing experiments. The position requires an associate degree or equivalent with 2+ years of experience, willingness to travel 15–25%, and the ability to obtain DoD clearance.

Qualifications

• Associate’s degree or equivalent with two or more years of experience.
• Training/experience in test or experimental operations normally acquired in the military or technical schools desirable.
• Must be able to work with common hand tools and operate laboratory equipment.
• Must have the capability to perform complex assignments with little or no direction.
• Ability to work with high pressure, high voltage, high energy, cryogens, or radioactive materials; knowledge of computer operations.
• Ability to obtain and maintain DoD security clearance is required.
• Travel is required 15 to 25%.

Responsibilities

• Build, test, and integrate cable assemblies.
• Modify, fabricate, assemble, install, repair and maintain general lab, experimental or commercial equipment.
• Install and test applied instrumentation.
• Set up and conduct semi-routine experiments and tests.
• Record and summarize data.
• Fabricate, assemble, and install simple laboratory and equipment or experimental apparatus.
• Operate lab and experimental equipment; collect and summarize data.
• Clean, adjust and replace parts on lab and experimental equipment.
• Set up and check out semi-routine experiments and tests per procedures.
• Observe all laws and regulations and perform duties safely.
• Perform housekeeping and cleanup duties as required.
• Other duties as assigned.
