The Impact You'll Make

Join a highly skilled R&D machining team where your expertise will directly contribute to the development of innovative prototype components and products. In this role, you'll transform engineering concepts, drawings, and design ideas into precision-machined parts that support research, development, and product advancement.

This is an opportunity to work on complex, one-of-a-kind prototype projects that require creativity, technical problem-solving, and a deep understanding of machining processes. Your work will influence product development while leveraging advanced CNC equipment, precision inspection techniques, and close collaboration with engineers and internal stakeholders.

If you take pride in producing high-quality work, solving challenging machining problems, and working to tight tolerances, this role offers the chance to make a meaningful impact every day.

What You’ll Be Doing
  • Program, set up, and operate CNC mills, lathes, grinders, and conventional machining equipment to manufacture complex R&D prototype components.
  • Interpret engineering drawings, GD&T requirements, and machining specifications to determine the most effective machining strategy, tooling, workholding, and process parameters.
  • Partner closely with engineers and internal customers to deliver precision prototype parts that meet design intent, functionality, and quality expectations.
  • Verify dimensional accuracy using precision inspection equipment such as calipers, micrometers, bore gauges, height gauges, and dial indicators, maintaining tolerances as tight as ±0.010 mm.
  • Create and optimize machine programs using Siemens Sinumerik ShopMill/ShopTurn, utilize Hypermill CAM when appropriate, and troubleshoot machining processes to improve efficiency and part quality.
  • Maintain equipment, monitor machine performance, and uphold safety, quality, and workplace organization standards throughout the manufacturing process.
What We're Looking For
  • High school diploma or GED and 5+ years of machining experience in a precision manufacturing, prototype, or toolroom environment.
  • Strong proficiency in GD&T, blueprint reading, and interpreting engineering drawings.
  • Hands-on experience programming and operating CNC machining equipment, including familiarity with Siemens Sinumerik controls and the ability to read and modify basic G-code/M-code.
  • Demonstrated ability to perform precision inspections using standard metrology tools and consistently achieve tight tolerances.
  • Solid understanding of machining fundamentals, including tooling selection, feeds and speeds, workholding, fixture design, and machine setup.
  • Basic computer skills using Microsoft Outlook, Excel, and Word, along with effective written and verbal communication skills.
What You’ll Get from Us
  • We promote from within and support your learning with mentoring, training, and access to global opportunities.
  • You’ll have flexibility, autonomy, and support to do your best work while maintaining a healthy work-life balance. Your well-being matters to us.
