Job summary

Omega Bio-tek, Inc. is seeking a Research & Development Lab Technician to support the R&D department by collecting samples, performing testing, documenting results, and maintaining lab equipment.

This hands-on role offers the chance to contribute to cutting-edge nucleic acid purification solutions in a dynamic environment. The position requires a life sciences degree and 2+ years in a related lab, with experience in DNA/RNA workflows and the ability to lift 30 lbs.

Qualifications

• BS or MS degree in a life science area, chemistry background preferred.
• 2+ years in a synthetic chemistry or molecular biology laboratory or equivalent experience.
• Experience with DNA & RNA extraction workflows.
• Able to obtain half-face respirator certification upon hire; ability to lift 30 lbs.

Responsibilities

• Assist in magnetic bead-based development by applying basic chemistry knowledge.
• Perform DNA/RNA extraction, PCR, qPCR, capillary sequencing and NGS workflows.
• Generate clear and concise technical reports.
• Execute experimental strategy developed by manager and senior personnel.
• Review progress with senior staff and present results.

TheR&D Lab Technicianwill support R&D Department functions by collecting samples, performing testing,documentingand communicating results, andoperatingand maintaining laboratory equipment. What you will do:

• Assistin magnetic bead-based development by applying basic chemistry knowledge, particularly in chemical synthesis methods

• Play a key role in laboratory functions such as DNA extraction, RNA extraction, PCR, qPCR, capillarysequencingand Next GenerationSequencing

• Generateclear and concise technical reports

• Execute experimental strategy developed by managerand senior laboratory personnel

• Workwith senior laboratory personnel to review progress and present results

• Maintain laboratory, cleaning, maintenance, and safety per SOPs

• Revise and update SOPs, as needed

• Follow established company SOP and ISO 9001 Guidelines

What you will need:

• BS or MS degree in a life science area,chemistry background preferred

• Experience or knowledge of workflows with DNA & RNA extraction
