Job summary

Validation & Engineering Group, Inc. (V&EG) is seeking an R&D Laboratory Technician to support development activities in our Process & Product Design organization, including lens build studies, metrology, and pilot line operations.

You will assist engineers, prepare materials, document results in GDP-compliant records, and ensure safe, orderly pilot manufacturing work areas. Strong attention to detail and teamwork are essential.

Qualifications

• Associate degree in a technical field or equivalent experience preferred.
• Experience in a laboratory, manufacturing, pilot plant, or engineering environment preferred.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to follow procedures.
• Basic computer skills including Microsoft Office.
• Ability to collect, record, and communicate technical data.
• Strong teamwork and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Assist with lens build process studies, parts assembly, and experimental activities.
• Prepare materials, equipment, and components for development studies and builds.
• Execute established procedures and document build batch records.
• Collect, organize, and enter experimental data in GDP-compliant systems.
• Support measurement and metrology activities in a mold metrology lab.
• Record measurement results and verify data accuracy.
• Maintain measurement equipment and work areas.
• Assist with equipment setup, operation, cleaning, and routine maintenance.
• Support pilot builds, changeovers, material handling, and sample management.
• Follow all applicable safety, PPE, quality, and documentation requirements.
