Job summary

Validation & Engineering Group, Inc. seeks an R&D Laboratory Technician to support critical research, development, and pilot manufacturing activities within our Process & Product Design organization.

The technicians will work closely with engineers, scientists, and pilot manufacturing personnel to support development activities that contribute to new product and process innovation. We value meticulous data collection and documentation, safety, and collaboration as you contribute to lens build

Qualifications

• Associate degree in a technical field or equivalent technical experience preferred.
• Experience working in a laboratory, manufacturing, pilot plant, or engineering environment preferred.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to follow written procedures.
• Basic computer skills, including Microsoft Office applications.
• Ability to accurately collect, record, and communicate technical data.
• Strong teamwork and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Assist engineers with lens build process studies, parts assembly, and experimental activities.
• Prepare materials, equipment, and components for development studies and builds.
• Execute established procedures and accurately document build batch records.
• Collect, organize, and enter experimental data into electronic systems in conformance to GDP.
• Support measurement and inspection activities in mold metrology lab.
• Perform dimensional measurements of molds, components, and finished parts using established methods and equipment.
• Record measurement results and verify data accuracy.
• Maintain measurement equipment and work areas in a clean and organized condition.
• Assist with equipment setup, operation, cleaning, and routine maintenance (operational checks).
• Support pilot builds, changeovers, material handling, and sample management.
• Follow all applicable safety, PPE, quality, and documentation requirements.
