Job summary

IBC Materials & Technologies is seeking a dedicated associate to support R&D testing and material handling in a fast-paced environment. You will prepare specimens, operate basic tools, and document results for projects led by engineers and scientists.

The role requires attention to detail, strong organizational skills, and ability to lift 50 lbs daily; familiarity with glovebox/chemical handling is a plus. This is a full-time, on-site position with comprehensive benefits.

Qualifications

• Must have high school diploma or equivalent; associate's degree in chemistry is highly desirable.
• Excellent attention to detail, ability to follow directions, and communicate efficiently and accurately.
• Excellent organizational skills.
• Competency in using basic hand tools.
• Must be able to lift 50 lbs daily and stand/walk for a large portion of the day.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office.

Responsibilities

• Follow work introductions, review safety data sheets, and follow standard handling protocols on a wide variety of R&D projects.
• Fixture parts and/or standard research specimens, working with hand tools as required.
• Perform testing and record results using logs and records of work performed and materials and equipment used, as required by the project engineer, Chief Technologist, Chief Scientist, or direct supervisor.
• Assist in maintaining facility cleanliness through regular inspection and cleaning of your department.
• Cross-train in other areas/departments as needed.
• Complete additional assignments and projects as prescribed by your supervisor.
• Follow all AS9100, internal quality policies, OSHA safety regulations, and company safety policies.
