Job summary

Mactac North America is seeking a Research & Development Lab Technician in Scranton, PA. You will perform standardized testing, process data, and assist in creating new formulations and improvements within the R&D lab and plant. Strong data interpretation and independent work are essential.

Requirements include a high school diploma (degree preferred in math/chemistry) and 3–7 years of lab experience with strong communication skills. Valid driver’s license and US work authorization required.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalency.
• Four year degree preferred with emphasis on Math and Chemistry highly desirable.
• Verbal and written communication skills across all levels of personnel.
• Working knowledge of PC applications including Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint.
• Math skills with emphasis on statistical interpretation of data.
• Ability to work independently.
• 3–7 years of lab experience; industry-related experience may be acceptable.
• Valid driver’s license.
• Legal authorization to work in the US; no visa sponsorship.

Responsibilities

• Conducts standard laboratory and industry tests to determine material properties.
• Operates laboratory equipment; records results and prepares data reports.
• Fabricates laboratory samples for R&D personnel or customers.
• Coordinates testing with customers and vendors on PS test methods.
• Assists in oversight of plant trial runs with R&D personnel.
• Applies designed experiments and statistical techniques for process improvement.
• Maintains clean equipment and work area; assists in servicing lab.
• Follows Laboratory Chemical Hygiene plan at all times.
• Reports experimental results to internal personnel.
• Works primarily on assigned shift; may rotate as needed.
• Performs other duties as needed and assigned by supervisor.
