Job summary

Sika in Madison Heights, MI is seeking a Technician in R&D to support laboratory testing, formulation, and product development. The role requires following instructions, documenting results, and maintaining a clean, safe work environment in a fast-paced lab setting.

Responsibilities include preparing samples, recording data, and assisting with minor projects under supervision. A high school diploma or science background is preferred, with good communication and independent work skills.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or College degree in General Sciences.
• Some industry experiences related to rubber, plastics or adhesive materials.
• Able to follow instruction and work independently.
• Good communicating and writing skill.

Responsibilities

• Compound formulation and products per instruction given.
• Test laboratory samples, production samples and raw materials.
• Work on minor projects, testing plan, with minimum supervision.
• Keep accurate records of formulations and test results, generating reports and flagging abnormalities.
• Prepare reports or memos on assigned tasks or projects.
• Maintain laboratory equipment in good operating conditions.
• Maintain assigned work areas clean and tidy following 5S and safety guidelines.
• Order raw materials and laboratory supplies as assigned.
• Store away raw materials, retains, and reference samples in designated areas.
• Adhere to all safety guidelines and procedures, follow standard procedures for equipment including proper PPE.
• Attend all company provided training programs.
