Job summary

Itron, Inc. seeks an Associate R&D Technician to support the Distributed Intelligence Laboratory (DI-Lab). This role bridges the gap between an electrician, electronics technician, and laboratory test engineer.

You will work hands-on with electrical distribution systems, metering equipment, and prototype test gear, enabling engineers to develop next-generation utility and distributed intelligence technologies.

Qualifications

• Associate degree in Electrical Technology or related field.
• 2+ years in electrical, electronics, or technician roles.
• Ability to read electrical schematics and manuals.
• Experience with electrical test equipment and calibration.
• Strong troubleshooting and safety mindset.

Responsibilities

• Support day-to-day operations of the laboratory and workshop.
• Assemble, install, maintain, and troubleshoot electrical panels and metering equipment.
• Wiring, cable routing, and panel construction per codes and standards.
• Assist with lab expansions, equipment upgrades, and safety inspections.
