Job summary

Itron is seeking an Associate R&D Technician to support the operation, maintenance, and expansion of the Distributed Intelligence Laboratory (DI-Lab). This hands-on role bridges the gap between electricians, electronics technicians, and lab test engineers, working with electrical distribution models, metering equipment, and prototype test rigs.

You will build, troubleshoot, wire, fabricate, and maintain complex systems while ensuring compliance with electrical safety practices.

Qualifications

Associate degree in Electrical Technology or related field, or equivalent experience.
2+ years hands-on electrical, electronics, or laboratory maintenance experience.
Ability to read schematics, wiring diagrams, and manuals.
Experience using DMM, scopes, power analyzers, and signal generators.
Commitment to electrical safety and lab standards.

Responsibilities

Provide laboratory operations and maintenance for the DI-Lab.
Assemble, install, and troubleshoot electrical panels, transformers, metering equipment.
Assist with lab expansions, equipment upgrades, and safety checks.
Support engineers with experimental setups and data collection.
Maintain inventory and documentation.
