Job summary

The Judge Group in Roselle, NJ is seeking an R&D Laboratory Technician to support product development initiatives and new product innovation. This full-time role offers a hands-on opportunity to work with the product development team from concept through production.

You will prepare ingredients for development trials, assist with formulation work, conduct product testing, record results, and help with scale-up and quality checks in a collaborative lab environment.

Qualifications

• Associate's or Bachelor's degree (relevant industry experience considered).
• Minimum 2 years of experience in food product development or related lab roles.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to follow formulas and documentation.
• Experience with product testing or quality evaluations preferred.
• Proficiency with Excel and Word.
• Strong organizational and analytical skills.
• Ability to manage multiple projects in a fast-paced environment.
• Bilingual English/Spanish is a plus but not required.

Responsibilities

A growing food manufacturing company is seeking an R&D Laboratory Technician to support product development initiatives and new product innovation. This position offers a hands-on opportunity to work closely with the product development team, assisting with formulation trials, product testing, documentation, and commercialization activities.

The ideal candidate is passionate about food, enjoys working in a laboratory setting, and is eager to contribute to the development of new products from concept through production.

Responsibilities

• Prepare, weigh, measure, and blend ingredients accurately for product development trials.
• Assist with formulation development, product evaluation, and sample preparation.
• Participate in product testing activities, including sensory evaluations and performance assessments.
• Record formulas, test results, observations, and other development data with a high level of accuracy.
• Support scale-up activities and production trials as products move from development to manufacturing.
• Perform routine quality checks to verify products meet established specifications and standards.
• Operate, clean, calibrate, and maintain laboratory equipment and workspaces.
• Maintain a safe, organized, and sanitary laboratory environment.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including Operations, Quality, and Commercial teams, to support product launches and continuous improvement initiatives.

Qualifications

• Associate's or Bachelor's degree (relevant industry experience will be considered)
• Minimum of 2 years of experience in food product development, laboratory operations, quality testing, or a related food manufacturing environment.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to follow formulas, procedures, and documentation requirements.
• Experience with product testing, ingredient handling, formulation work, or quality evaluations is preferred.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel and Word.
• Strong organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities in a fast-paced environment.
• Bilingual English/Spanish skills are a plus but not required.
