Job summary

Gore & Associates, Inc. is seeking an experienced R&D Technician for the Day Shift at Elkton, MD. You will collaborate with scientists and engineers to execute bench-to-pilot scale materials and process development, preparing solvent-based formulations and conducting coating and membrane-processing trials.

You will characterize materials, collect and analyze data, and help maintain a safe lab environment. Flexibility for travel up to 5% and a competitive, full benefits package are offered.

Qualifications

• Associate degree in engineering technology, chemistry, materials science, or a related field and a minimum of 2 years of hands-on technical lab experience.
• Experience in a research, pilot, or prototyping environment.
• Experience safely handling solvents and chemicals.
• Experience preparing solutions, dispersions, coatings, or polymer formulations and following documented procedures.
• Strong ability to collect, organize and clearly communicate technical data with high accuracy.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with scientists and engineers to plan, execute, and document materials, coating, processing, and prototyping experiments.
• Prepare solvent-based solutions, dispersions, and polymer formulations safely from bench scale to larger batches.
• Conduct coating trials from bench scale through pilot-scale or continuous processing equipment.
• Set up material paths, tooling, fixtures, and data collection systems for experiments.
• Prepare samples and perform membrane and material characterization (physical, mechanical, chemical).
• Collect, organize, analyze and communicate experimental data to enable timely decisions.
• Maintain a safe, organized laboratory environment and manage chemicals and equipment.
