Philip Morris International U.S. in Owensboro, KY is seeking an R&D Lab Engineer to translate business needs into technical solutions for the laboratory IT ecosystem, deploying and supporting systems like LabVantage LIMS and Chromeleon. This role requires strong IT service management and GMP/CSV awareness in a multinational environment.

You will contribute to digital initiatives, AI-enabled technologies, and global IT deployments while ensuring daily lab operations run smoothly and compliantly.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, information systems, or a related field.
• At least 3 years in IT service management in a lab/manufacturing setting.
• Experience with multinational organizations is preferred.
• Pharma/medical device manufacturing exposure and CSV/GMP knowledge preferred.
• Fluent in English and eligible to work in the United States.

Responsibilities

• Translate business needs into technical solutions for the Owensboro R&D Analytical Laboratory.
• Design, deploy, maintain, and support laboratory IT systems.
• Serve as the primary IT facilitator for LabVantage LIMS and other platforms.
• Support implementation of new laboratory systems, digital initiatives, and AI-enabled technologies.
• Gather and analyze business/technical requirements; define project scope, deliverables, and process improvements.
• Deploy and localize global IT solutions.
• Troubleshoot and resolve system issues to support daily laboratory operations.
• Ensure compliance with GMP, GAMP, CSV and regulatory expectations.
• Perform routine laboratory test analyses as needed.

Your Day-to-Day

• Support the Owensboro R&D Analytical Laboratory by translating business needs into technical solutions, including design, deployment, maintenance, and support of laboratory IT systems.


• Serve as the primary IT facilitator for laboratory platforms, including LabVantage LIMS, Agilent CDS/ECM, Chromeleon Enterprise System, SmartVue, EMS, Mettler EasyDirect, OMNIS, and Skala.


• Support implementation of new laboratory systems, digital initiatives, and AI-enabled technologies.


• Gather and analyze business and technical requirements and define project scope, deliverables, and process improvements.


• Deploy and localize global IT solutions.


• Troubleshoot and resolve system issues while supporting daily laboratory operations.


• Ensure compliance with company policies, quality standards, GxP requirements, and regulatory expectations.


• Perform routine laboratory test analyses as needed.

Who We’re Looking For

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field.


• 3 years of IT service management experience in a laboratory or manufacturing environment.


• Experience working for a multinational organization.


• Pharmaceutical and/or medical device manufacturing experience preferred.


• Knowledge of GMP, GAMP, and Computer System Validation (CSV) preferred.


• Fluent in English.


• Legally authorized to work in the United States.

Annual Base Salary

$80,000 – $100,000
