Job summary

Catalent is seeking an R&D Laboratory Coordinator for its Manassas, VA site. The role supports new product initiatives, collaborates with R&D Technicians to create prototypes, and maintains lab operations with strong documentation and inventory controls.

This hands-on, detail-focused position requires adherence to GMPs, safety rules, and SOPs, with 100% onsite work, Monday to Friday, 8am–5pm. Previous food industry exposure is valued and organizational skills are essential.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED required.
• 1–2 years of relevant experience in food preparation or the food industry.
• Strong problem-solving, verbal communication, and listening skills with excellent analytical and decision-making abilities.
• Detail-oriented with strong time management skills.
• Ability to work in cross-functional teams and independent settings.
• Basic computer skills using Microsoft Office.

Responsibilities

• Organize daily activities based on business priorities provided by R&D scientists or R&D Laboratory Technician.
• Maintain accurate records of R&D materials, equipment, and samples stored in all R&D areas according to established practices and procedures.
• Maintain accurate laboratory and project work documentation.
• Keep the laboratory clean and organized, including supplies inventory, maintenance, and routine cleaning.
• Prepare samples for shipment to customers.
• Formulate and create bench top samples for presentation to internal and external customers while maintaining awareness of current plant process capabilities.
• Adhere to GMPs and Health and Safety rules as outlined in the employee handbook.
• Use prescribed PPE and apply GMP/HACCP knowledge daily.
• Participate in all required training to perform job responsibilities.
• Familiarity with bar code scanners and warehouse inventory systems is a plus.
• Follow SOPs and cGMP procedures.
• Taste prototype products and participate in taste panels as needed.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
