Job summary

Sandia National Laboratories is seeking an R&D Laboratory Support Technologist to calibrate and maintain equipment, support lifecycle management, and provide instrumentation and data analysis support in Center 7500. The role involves on-site work with opportunities to troubleshoot PLCs and PC-based systems, including LabVIEW software.

Responsibilities include calibrations, data analysis, software reviews, and customer-facing technical support.

Qualifications

Associate’s degree in a technical field; or 4 years of related experience.
Experience in equipment maintenance, troubleshooting and repair.
Ability to obtain and maintain a DOE Q clearance.
Ability to work independently, prioritize work, and perform under pressure.
Demonstrated safety practices and problem-solving in hands-on environments.

Responsibilities

Execute calibrations and maintenance on ovens, furnaces, temperature chambers, vacuum systems, welders, laser markers, and other equipment.
Troubleshoot and repair production equipment, including PLC control systems and computer hardware.
Run equipment, collect and analyze data, and provide actionable reports.
Review, revise, and back up computer software, including Windows OS and PLC applications.
Interface with Center customers to provide strong technical support and status updates.
Manage high-volume, variable requests from equipment owners and lab residents.
Work on-site; relocation to a Sandia facility is required.
