Job summary

Mativ invites qualified students to join our Munising Mill for a 10+ week internship beginning in May 2027. The program offers exposure to R&D, real-time production, and cross-functional collaboration, with focus on paper or paper-based materials.

Ideal candidates are proactive, analytical, and collaborative, pursuing degrees in Paper Science, Chemistry, or Engineering, with strong Excel skills and a 3.0+ GPA.

Qualifications

• Must be currently enrolled and working toward a degree in Paper Science, Chemistry or Engineering.
• Minimum one year of coursework completed; preference for two years.
• GPA of 3.0 or higher preferred.
• Solid Microsoft Office skills, particularly Excel.

Responsibilities

• Assist R&D with process efficiency improvements and cost-saving projects.
• Attend leadership meetings and report on tasks assigned.
• Work with scientists to identify paper properties.
• Participate in new customer trials and provide data.
• Support in developing or updating standard operating procedures.
• Contribute to project work as directed by R&D management.
