Job summary

Balchem is seeking an intern to support its Corporate R&D Laboratory in Montvale, NJ, assisting with analytical testing and product development across ANH and HNH units. You will work at the interface of R&D with manufacturing, supply chain, quality, and sales, across office, lab, and pilot plant settings.

The role reports to the Corporate R&D Analytical Lab Manager and involves lab-scale experiments, new product commercialization, and material qualification.

Qualifications

• Currently enrolled in an undergraduate or graduate program in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, or related field.
• Excellent communication, influencing, and critical thinking skills.
• Highly self-motivated individual comfortable working independently and able to manage multiple tasks and projects efficiently within a busy environment.
• Proficient with computer skills, word processing, spreadsheet, and presentation applications, and able to learn new applications.

Responsibilities

• Work safely in all situations and follow Balchem safety policies.
• Support product development in formulation, application, process development, and specification development.
• Participate in scale-up trials from pilot plant to commercial scale during traditional hours.
• Assist in preparing presentations and reports to communicate results to key stakeholders.
• Perform other duties as assigned; may be assigned to one or several projects.
