Job summary

Quantum Computing Inc. in Hoboken, NJ is seeking a dedicated R&D Technician intern to support the research and development of quantum machines. You will test, validate, and troubleshoot components, collaborating with electrical, FPGA, optical, mechanical, embedded, and software engineers to drive continuous improvement and product validation.

You will document results, adhere to safety and quality standards, and provide feedback to design teams. Internship runs Sep 14 through Dec 11.

Qualifications

  • Associate degree in Electronics, Mechanics, or related field.
  • Experience in testing/assembly in electronics/manufacturing.
  • Ability to read schematics, blueprints, and technical docs.
  • Proficiency with lab instruments: DMMs, scopes, analyzers.
  • Experience with soldering, hot air rework, and PCB prototyping.
  • Experience with small-pitch SMD components.
  • Good manual dexterity for intricate assembly and testing.
  • Computer literacy: Windows OS and device management.
  • Ability to install software and perform basic debugging.
  • Occasionally able to lift up to 50 lbs and stand/sit for long periods.
  • Strong problem-solving, detail-oriented, and collaborative.

Responsibilities

  • Test and validate electronic, optical, and mechanical components to specifications.
  • Perform functional testing and troubleshooting on assemblies and devices.
  • Document test results and assembly processes per company standards.
  • Identify issues in prototype units and implement corrective actions.
  • Collaborate with engineers to communicate product performance.
  • Maintain and organize tools, ensuring a safe, clean workspace.
  • Adhere to safety and quality standards to uphold product integrity.
  • Provide feedback to design teams for improvements.
