Job summary

eTeam is seeking an experienced R&D Hardware Design Engineer to join our Calabasas team. You will design electro-mechanical assemblies, define constraints for PCBAs, perform tolerance analyses, and produce fabrication drawings.

Proficiency with SolidWorks, GD&T, sheet metal fabrication, and reading schematics is expected; 24-month contract with OT may be required. The role requires hands-on prototyping, interface with suppliers, and collaboration in a fast-paced environment in Calabasas, CA.

Qualifications

• BS in Mechanical Engineering required.
• Proficiency with SolidWorks and 3D CAD tools.
• Experience with GD&T and sheet metal fabrication.

Responsibilities

• Design electro-mechanical assemblies and packaging.
• Define mechanical constraints for PCBAs.
• Perform tolerance stackup analysis.
• Create fabrication, parts and assembly drawings.
• Conduct FEA and thermal analyses.
• Source off-the-shelf components and address DFM/DFA issues.
• Assemble and validate prototypes; attend team meetings.

Job Title: R&D Hardware Design Engineer

Contract Duration: 24 Months
Schedule Notes: Some OT may be required

Duties

• Design electro-mechanical assemblies, machined parts, sheet metal component parts and corrugated/foam packaging
• Define mechanical constraints for PCBAs
• Perform tolerance stackup analysis
• Create fabrication drawings, parts lists and assembly drawings
• FEA and thermal analysis
• Source off the shelf components
• Interface with suppliers and Keysight operations to address DFM & DFA issues
• Assemble and validate prototype assemblies
• Create change orders in Agile MRP system
• Attend project team meetings

Skills

• Proficient with Solidworks 3D CAD and simulation tools
• Possesses understanding of sheet metal fabrication and machining
• Ability to read electrical schematic diagrams
• Experienced with GD&T
• Proficient with Microsoft Office tools
• Basic knowledge of PCB fabrication and design guidelines
• Basic knowledge of Adobe Illustrator a plus
• Experience with Agile a plus
