Job summary

KLN Family Brands/Tuffy’s Treat Company is offering an R&D Formulation Internship in Delano, MN. College juniors and seniors are invited to apply for 10–12 weeks of hands-on experience with our pet food formulation team.

You’ll work with our scientists and production teams to learn the full production cycle, participate in product research and formulation, and support daily duties. Exceptional performers may receive a full-time opportunity after graduation.

The Opportunity

As an R&D Formulation Intern, you’ll work closely with our Pet Food Scientists and other members of our formulation and operations teams.

Daily Duties and Responsibilities:

• Gain comprehensive knowledge of the entire production cycle for our canned pet food and pet treat products
• Support the R&D and formulation team with day-to-day responsibilities, including:
  • Product research, development, and formulation
• Project driven by business need

What You’ll Need to Be Successful at KLN Family Brands/Tuffy’s Treat Company :

• At least a Junior in college pursuing a degree in Animal Science, Chemistry, Biology, or a related field
• The ability to dedicate 10-12 weeks to the internship program for the summer of 2027
• A positive attitude and willingness to learn
• The ability to work in a team atmosphere and be a great co-worker
• The ability to work on-site at our Delano, MN facility for the summer

Compensation

The starting hourly rate of pay is $18.84 and will be a percentage of industry standards based on typical full-time starting salaries, and will depend on your year in school and timeline to graduation.
