Job summary

PepsiCo in Plano, TX is seeking a Manufacturing Technician to support R&D product development in the Plano Process Lab and Technology Process Center. The role operates food processing equipment, sets up lines, troubleshoots issues, and contributes to safety and environmental compliance.

You will lift up to 50 lbs, collaborate with R&D engineers and food scientists, and participate in continuous improvement.

Qualifications

• High School/GED required; associate technical degree preferred.
• 3+ years of manufacturing/production or R&D testing center experience, preferably in food industry.
• Experience and knowledge of food processing equipment, production, and/or test systems.
• Ability to set up, operate and troubleshoot food processing equipment.
• Strong mechanical aptitude.
• Self-starter; works with minimal supervision.
• Willingness to work off-shifts and weekends; flex between Dallas and Plano sites.
• Excellent teamwork; strong written and verbal communication; safety-first attitude.
• Basic computer skills are required.

Responsibilities

• Provide operational support for R&D product development teams.
• Operate a variety of food processing equipment in Plano Process Lab or Technology Process Center.
• Collaborate with R&D engineers and food scientists to meet test objectives.
• Ensure safety, food safety, and environmental compliance during daily operations.
• Accurately manage run data sheets, safety records, and work orders.
• Supervise contract labor and ensure proper training for tasks.
• Assist with equipment cleaning, preventive maintenance, and reliability improvements.
• Participate in continuous improvement training and skill development.
