Job summary

Furmano Foods, Inc. seeks a Process Authority / R&D Food Scientist to lead product development projects and ensure thermal processing safety. The ideal candidate will bring 3-5 years of food R&D experience and a Bachelor’s degree in Food Science or related field.

You will be responsible for product development, regulatory compliance, and collaboration across various teams to drive improvements in quality and safety. The role is based in Northumberland, PA and involves both technical leadership and team coaching.

Qualifications

• 3–5 years of food R&D experience.
• Experience leading thermal processing operations.
• 5+ years as Process Authority in acidified/low-acid canning operation.

Responsibilities

• Lead product development projects from concept through commercialization.
• Ensure compliance with thermal processing systems regulations.
• Evaluate heat penetration data and process deviations.
