Job summary

Furmano Foods is seeking a Process Authority, R&D Food Scientist to lead thermal processing safety, product development, and finished product quality testing. This role coaches a lab team, drives efficiency, and upholds Furmano’s values of safety, quality, and continuous improvement.

The position requires a Bachelor’s degree in Food Science or related field and 3–5 years of R&D experience with thermal processing. Northumberland, PA location with full-time on-site work.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Food Science, Food Engineering, or related field.
• 3–5 years of food R&D experience and knowledge of thermal processing.
• Experience leading and supporting thermal processing operations.

Responsibilities

• Lead product development projects from concept to commercialization.
• Ensure regulatory compliance of thermal processing systems.
• Develop formulations, run plant trials, and conduct shelf-life studies.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to drive quality and innovation.
