Job summary

Primient is seeking a hands-on lab professional to execute fed-batch fermentation experiments and conduct diagnostic testing to optimize production strains. You will operate analytical equipment, analyze data, and support cell bank development for 1,3-propanediol manufacture.

The role requires a 4-year science degree and ability to work in a fast-paced, collaborative environment with lifting requirements up to 55 lbs and potential non-standard shifts.

Qualifications

• Requires a minimum of a 4-year college degree in chemistry, biology, biochemistry or related science with at least 1 year of lab experience preferred.
• Demonstrated teamwork and ability to work in a multi-disciplinary team.
• Ability to multi-task, prioritize, and maintain attention to detail.
• Willingness to work in a fast-paced environment and adapt to changing procedures.

Responsibilities

• Complete 15 L fed-batch fermentation experiments and collect data.
• Provide molecular or microbiological diagnostic testing for production strain issues and related processes.
• Operate laboratory analytical equipment (HPLC, GC, carbohydrate analyzers, balances, meters).
• Support manufacture and validation of working and master cell banks for production of 1,3-propanediol.
• Obtain and analyze field samples to aid troubleshooting and improvement initiatives.
• Complete lab-scale trials of downstream processes including ion exchange and filtration.
