Job summary

Debut Biotech, Inc. is seeking a Research Associate to aid in microbial fermentation processes for small molecule production. You will operate bench-scale bioreactors, design and execute fermentation experiments, and work closely with Molecular Biologists, chemists, and engineers.

This role requires attention to detail, data processing, and statistical analysis to maximize understanding of strain performance, with some evening/night or weekend work as needed.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent (Associate +2 years or HS +4 years) in a relevant field.
• Strong data recording and Excel skills; detail oriented.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and balance multiple projects.

Responsibilities

• Design and execution of fermentation experiments across multiple volumes.
• Optimization of fermentation operations by controlling numerous parameters.
• Maintenance of bench-scale bioreactors.
• Preparation of media, buffers, and chemical solutions.
• Product sampling and chemical/microbiological analysis.
• Bioreactor and laboratory material cleaning and sterilization.
• Data processing and statistical analysis to maximize understanding of strain performance.
• High throughput experiment optimization across multiple reaction volumes.
• Evening/nights and weekend work may be required on occasions.
