Job summary

Philips Cambridge is seeking an hands-on R&D Engineering Technician to maintain lab equipment, build prototype ultrasound transducers, and support product testing in a fast-paced healthcare technology environment.

You will perform preventive maintenance, assist in prototype builds, operate laboratory testing equipment, troubleshoot issues, and collaborate with engineers and lab technicians across sites to drive multiple R&D projects forward.

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or Vocational Education is required.
  • Hands‑on work with assembling, testing, troubleshooting, or maintaining products.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills; effective team player across cross‑functional, multi‑site teams.

Job Description

R&D Engineering Technician: Support the R&D team by maintaining laboratory equipment, building prototype ultrasound transducers, and helping execute product testing activities that contribute to the development of innovative healthcare technologies

Your role
  • Perform preventive maintenance on laboratory machinery and equipment, helping ensure a safe, organized, and efficient R&D environment.
  • Support the construction and assembly of prototype ultrasound transducers for early-stage product development and new product introductions.
  • Operate and support a variety of laboratory testing equipment used for reliability and validation activities.
  • Troubleshoot equipment issues, coordinate with engineers and vendors when needed, and help identify practical solutions to technical challenges.
  • Collaborate closely with engineers and lab technicians to improve processes, support prototype builds, and contribute to multiple R&D projects.
You're the right fit if
  • You have a High School Diploma or Vocational Education.
  • You enjoy hands-on work and are comfortable assembling, testing, troubleshooting, or maintaining products and equipment.
  • You have excellent communication and collaboration skills and are an effective team player who can work successfully with cross-functional, multi-site teams.

Philips Transparency Details

The pay range for this position in Cambridge, MA is $26 to $40. The actual base pay offered may vary within the posted ranges depending on multiple factors including job-related knowledge/skills, experience, business needs, geographical location, and internal equity.

In addition, other compensation, such as an annual incentive bonus, sales commission or long-term incentives may be offered. Employees are eligible to participate in our comprehensive Philips Total Rewards benefits program, which includes a generous PTO, 401k (up to 7% match), HSA (with company contribution), stock purchase plan, education reimbursement and much more. At Philips, it is not typical for an individual to be hired at or near the top end of the range for their role and compensation decisions are dependent upon the facts and circumstances of each case.

Additional Information

US work authorization is a precondition of employment. The company will not consider candidates who require sponsorship for a work-authorized visa, now or in the future. Company relocation benefits will not be provided for this position. For this position, you must reside in or within commuting distance to Cambridge, MA.
