Job Title R&D Test Engineer, Ultrasound (Cambridge, MA)

Job Description R&D Test Engineer, Ultrasound: Help drive the development of next-generation ultrasound technology by creating innovative test solutions and validating the hardware and software that power life-changing healthcare products. Your role: Design, develop, and maintain test software, scripts, and methodologies on custom test equipment used to analyze and validate prototype ultrasound transducers, partnering closely with ASIC, acoustic, and electrical engineering teams. Own the test development process from concept through implementation, creating innovative validation approaches for emerging technologies and solving complex technical challenges. Investigate performance issues, perform root-cause analysis, and collaborate across disciplines to troubleshoot hardware and software validation problems. Lead the transfer of test methods, protocols, and procedures from research and development into manufacturing, ensuring test readiness and knowledge sharing across teams. Write and execute verification and validation protocols and reports, while continuously improving test processes, product quality, reliability, and manufacturing effectiveness.

You're the right fit if:
  • You have a Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronics Engineering, Computer Science, or an equivalent discipline.
  • A Master’s degree is preferred.
  • You’ve acquired 6+ years of experience in test engineering, electrical engineering, electronics engineering, hardware validation, or a related technical field.
  • You have strong software development skills using Python and C-based programming languages such as C, C++, and C#, along with experience developing test software for hardware validation.
  • You must be able to successfully perform the following minimum Physical, Cognitive and Environmental job requirements with or without accommodation for this position.
  • You possess excellent problem-solving, communication, technical writing, and collaboration skills, enabling you to work effectively in cross-functional engineering environments and tackle challenges where solutions may not be immediately known.

Philips Transparency Details The pay range for this position in Cambridge, MA is $115,000 to $182,000. The actual base pay offered may vary within the posted ranges depending on multiple factors including job-related knowledge/skills, experience, business needs, geographical location, and internal equity. In addition, other compensation, such as an annual incentive bonus, sales commission or long-term incentives may be offered. Employees are eligible to participate in our comprehensive Philips Total Rewards benefits program, which includes a generous PTO, 401k (up to 7% match), HSA (with company contribution), stock purchase plan, education reimbursement and much more. At Philips, it is not typical for an individual to be hired at or near the top end of the range for their role and compensation decisions are dependent upon the facts and circumstances of each case.

Additional Information US work authorization is a precondition of employment. The company will not consider candidates who require sponsorship for a work-authorized visa, now or in the future. Company relocation benefits will not be provided for this position. For this position, you must reside in or within commuting distance to Cambridge, MA.
