Job summary

IPG seeks an experienced R&D Engineering Manager in Michigan to lead the development and deployment of new technologies from R&D into production. You will guide a process team, align with operations, quality, and finance, and drive innovative projects across packaging and protective solutions.

The role requires strong engineering and people leadership, DoE experience, and a track record of improving processes with data-driven decisions. Exempt, on-site position.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in a related engineering field.
• Master’s degree preferred.
• 10+ years of engineering experience with 3+ years supervisory experience.
• Experience with extrusion, coating, and packaging processes preferred.
• Strong communication and leadership skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead and develop the R&D process team with clear direction and execution rhythms.
• Coordinate cross-functional project plans across R&D, Operations, Quality, Sales, and Finance.
• Drive innovation, deploy new technologies, and oversee DoE and data analytics to support decisions.
