Job summary

Henkel is offering an R&D Engineering Intern position in Lexington, MA within Adhesive Technologies. You will gain hands-on experience in formulation development and performance testing in a laboratory setting, supporting new and existing product development.

The role is onsite, full-time (40 hours/week) from July 13 to mid-December, with a structured internship program and opportunities for future return offers or full-time roles.

Qualifications

• Pursuing degree in Chemistry or Chemical Engineering
• Ability to analyze structured data to identify patterns and trends in material behavior
• Skilled in developing structure–property relationships to guide the design of next-generation materials
• Strong foundation in materials science, data interpretation, and experimental analysis

What you’ll do

As an R&D Engineering Intern, you’ll gain hands‑on experience in formulation development and performance testing within a laboratory environment. Your responsibilities will include:

• Creating and testing product coating formulations to meet customer and performance requirements

• Planning and executing tests to ensure formulations meet critical-to-quality (CTQ) standards
  
• Gathering and analyzing ideas from the internal R&D team to enhance product functionality
  
• Evaluating test results and translating findings into actionable insights
  
• Collaborating with cross‑functional teams to align product development with customer needs

Additional information

• This internship is NOT eligible for a housing stipend or relocation support.
  
• This internship has a duration of July 13th - mid December and will be onsite, full‑time (40 hours a week)
  
• Recruitment for our 2027 internships starts in September 2026 and runs through early March 2027 or until all our positions are filled

The salary for this role is $22-$27/hour. This is the range that we in good faith anticipate relying on when setting wages for this position. We may ultimately pay more or less than the posted range and this range. This salary range may also be modified in the future.
