Job summary

Vylor invites engineering students to join its 2027 Internship Program, a 6-month program based in the Des Moines metropolitan area. Interns will engage in diverse projects across automated systems, greenhouses, and field equipment, gaining hands-on experience bridging classroom knowledge with real-world applications.

Applicants must be enrolled in an accredited engineering program with a minimum 3.0 GPA and experience with 3D CAD (SolidWorks preferred).

Qualifications

• Currently enrolled in an accredited engineering program and pursuing a bachelor’s, master’s, or doctoral degree in Mechanical, Agricultural, Industrial Engineering, or related field with at least two years of coursework completed.
• Minimum GPA 3.0.
• Demonstrated experience using 3D CAD software; SolidWorks preferred.
• Ability to work safely around common machine shop equipment.
• Strong teamwork and collaboration.
• Authorized to work in the United States without sponsorship or employment restrictions.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team of engineering professionals on project development.
• Develop understanding of company research processes and critical technology needs.
• Conduct discovery, design, fabrication, integration, deployment and support of engineering solutions.
• Contribute to projects across automated greenhouse, insectary, high-throughput lab, seed handling systems, and field equipment.
• Support projects across mechanical, agricultural, electrical, and software disciplines.
• Work on projects from concept to implementation, from simple tools to fully automated systems.
