Job summary

Eaton Corporation in Cleveland, TN is seeking an R&D Engineering Intern for the Summer 2027 term to work under the guidance of the engineering team on design and development of innovative solutions for the Switching Devices product line.

The role includes participation in PRELaunch research through manufacturing launch, supporting technology development in the innovation pipeline, and leading sustainability projects with a focus on design, testing and certification of assemblies and components.

Qualifications

• Pursuing a bachelor's degree in the specified engineering field.
• Minimum cumulative GPA of 2.8 or higher.
• Willing to relocate to Cleveland, TN for the internship; relocation assistance may be provided for non-local candidates.
• Preferred: one internship or co-op experience or 3 months of relevant experience.

Responsibilities

• Perform CAD solid modeling, design simulation, BOM/CO creation, and design validation.
• Design parts and assemblies including sheet metal, plastics, mechanisms, electrical components, and packaging.
• Participate in new product development, DFMA, and prototyping activities.
• Engage in project management with cross-functional teams using PROLaunch and other tools.
• Assist in VOC research and maintain compliance with safety standards.
