Typical duties include:

Supporting machine programming and processing via directed energy deposition AM (including robot), powder bed fusion AM, and hybrid AM + 5 axis machining. Assisting CIMP-3D faculty and staff with coordination and/or execution of metallurgical characterization and mechanical testing of AM test coupons, data analysis and reporting. Designing experiments, planning AM builds, analyzing and documenting results in reports and/or academic publications. Supporting activities related to sensing and control and analysis of additive manufacturing process monitoring to accelerate product qualification (hardware selection, sensor integration, computer programming for data acquisition and data analysis, operation of process AM simulation tools).

Students studying engineering, materials, science, or applied physics are encouraged to apply. Experience with additive manufacturing, scientific programming, LabVIEW, and/or material science is desired.
