Dormont Manufacturing Co is seeking a motivated graduate student to support research in metal additive manufacturing at the Center for Innovative Material Processing through Direct Digital Deposition (CIMP-3D). Responsibilities include machine programming, coordinating metallurgical testing, and analyzing experimental results.
This position requires U.S. citizenship and the ability to undergo a government security investigation. Candidates are expected to commit to part-time hours during semesters and full-time during the summer.
The Center for Innovative Material Processing through Direct Digital Deposition (CIMP-3D) of the Applied Research Laboratory, a national leader in metal Additive Manufacturing (AM), is seeking a highly motivated and creative graduate student to support fundamental and applied research related to the development and application of metal additive manufacturing.
Students studying engineering, materials, science, or applied physics are encouraged to apply. Experience with additive manufacturing, scientific programming, LabVIEW, and/or material science is desired.
The successful candidate will work up to 20 hours per week during the fall and spring semesters and 40 hours per week during the summer.
Remote and hybrid work is not guaranteed regardless of work location.
U.S. citizenship and subject to a government security investigation are required. Employment with the Applied Research Laboratory will require successful completion of a pre‑employment drug screen.
Employment with the University will require successful completion of background check(s) in accordance with University policies and the ability to obtain a government security clearance; candidates will be notified during the interview process if this position is subject to a government background investigation.
