An exciting opportunity is available for an R&D Engineer I to support medical devices throughout their product lifecycle, from commercialization to end-of-life. This onsite role is based in Memphis, Tennessee and focuses on the CST - Implants and Procedures product line. The position is responsible for designing, developing, and improving products while ensuring compliance with regulatory, quality, and manufacturing standards.
The engineer will execute sustaining engineering projects, product enhancements, and design changes to support quality, compliance, manufacturability, and business objectives. Responsibilities include collaborating with cross-functional teams such as Quality, Regulatory Affairs, Manufacturing, Operations, Marketing, Medical Affairs, and Supply Chain to achieve project goals. The role involves developing engineering solutions using technical principles, conducting risk-based decision making, and supporting change management activities, verification and validation efforts, risk management, post-market support, and manufacturing transfers.
Candidates should possess strong engineering fundamentals, sound technical judgment, and the ability to independently execute engineering assignments while working effectively within multidisciplinary teams. Key technical skills required for this role include proficiency in CAD/CREO and GD&T, strong problem-solving and root cause analysis abilities, and experience with change control processes.
Applicants must hold a BS in Engineering and have a minimum of 2 years of relevant experience, or an advanced degree with no experience required. The position is full-time, requiring 40 hours per week, and is strictly onsite.
