Job summary

Spirair, Inc. in South San Francisco, CA is seeking an R&D Engineer to design, develop, and manufacture products per the Quality Manual.

You will ensure designs meet customer and manufacturability requirements, interface with suppliers and physicians, and collaborate across disciplines to advance new devices to market. The role requires a Bachelor’s in Engineering and 2–5 years of R&D experience; you will use SolidWorks, maintain strong documentation, and leverage MS Office as you contribute to

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering.
• 2–5 years of R&D experience.
• Proficiency in SolidWorks for solid models and drawings.
• Good documentation skills.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Word/Excel/PowerPoint.

Responsibilities

• Design and implement new methodologies, materials, machines, processes or products.
• Develop new concepts from initial design to market release.
• Ensure design control requirements are met and manage product development timelines with a cross functional team.
• Design test and assembly fixtures with engineering and manufacturing as appropriate.
• Test designs to validate functionality and suggest design modifications to meet market needs.
• Participate in animal and cadaver feasibility studies as necessary throughout the development process.
• Perform verification testing to establish that new devices meet design input specifications.
• Develop tools, if required, to accompany marketed device.
• Create detailed documentation throughout the various stages of R&D.
• Work with manufacturing/production to ensure product manufacturability.
• Provide technical support for regulatory/clinical or sales efforts.
• Contribute to IP development and idea generation.
