Job summary

Proterial Cable America is seeking an experienced professional to lead technical projects in cable design and manufacturing. You will collaborate with customers, VP Business Development & Technology, and factories to address risks in cable assemblies and ensure timely responses on quotes and development tasks.

Qualifications

• Degree or relevant experience required.
• On-the-job experience in catheter assembly, cable assembly, or wire & cable.
• Experience in medical devices and components.
• Experience in cable and cable assembly production environment, with understanding of cable, assemblies, connectors, tooling/fixturing, extrusion, molding, all wire and cable production processes.
• Significant experience working with suppliers and outside resources for material, processes and equipment.
• Understanding of Quality Management System (QMS) requirements.
• Knowledge of standard manufacturing documentation (routers, BOMs, WI’s, costing systems, process maps, PFMEA).
• Functional use of CAD software.
• Strong organizational skills required.
• Attention to detail and understanding of product/process needs.
• Project management skills and tools (Gantt charts, MS Project).
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills with customers, suppliers, production, engineering and QA teams.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with customers, VP Business Development & Technology, and Proterial factories to identify and resolve risk areas in cable designs and processes.
• Vet new projects and quotes to ensure timely customer responses.
• Solve technical problems in the development of new cables and cable assemblies.
• Present project details clearly to stakeholders across time zones and languages.
• Assist in developing DFM reports, Design FMEAs, cost estimates, and technical input for equipment and tooling.
• Manage cross-functional activities to meet timelines and profitability.
• Learn PRL products and understand applications and strengths/weaknesses.
• Present PRL products to assigned and new customers; provide technical training to sales personnel.
• Coordinate contract reviews with technical input; identify barriers to meet customer needs, quality, revenue, and profit.
• Provide data/input to ERP/QA for BOM/Route/WIs; support CAPEX for new equipment; collaborate with outside consultants, vendors and suppliers.
• Occasional evening and/or weekend work may be required.
