Job summary

General Mills is seeking an R&D Engineer Intern at the James Ford Bell Technical Center in Minneapolis, MN. The 10-week program develops technical depth, data analysis, and project management while preparing for a leadership development track after graduation.

You will collaborate with Engineering, Manufacturing, and external partners to design, test, and scale new processes, translate consumer insights into concepts, and apply digital tools to accelerate learning.

Qualifications

• Pursuing a B.S. in Chemical Engineering, Food Process Engineering, or related degree.
• Graduating in Winter 2027 or Spring 2028.
• Interest in programming, data analysis, and modeling.

Responsibilities

• Design and test new or improved processes for development and commercialization.
• Partner with Engineering and Manufacturing to scale solutions.
• Create, improve, and eliminate waste from products and processes.
• Scale-up products from benchtop to full production.
• Collaborate with cross-functional partners to grow the business.
• Interact with external partners and customers to translate insights into concepts.
