Job summary

EXALTA is seeking a 3-month summer intern to support R&D functional engineering teams in Marquette, MI. You will work on cross-functional design teams to develop new products, address design and process issues, and maintain device master records.

You will also participate in design control and risk management activities while gaining exposure to surgical procedures and innovative design solutions. The internship emphasizes hands-on, self-starting work, with the ability to work independently and

Qualifications

Pursuing Biomedical or Mechanical Engineering degree.
Familiar with Solid Modeling, GD&T and CAD systems.
Understanding of ISO 13485 design/process controls is a plus.

Responsibilities

Work on cross-functional design teams to develop new products and maintain device master records, including prints, inspection sheets, and BOMs.
Participate in design control and risk management activities.
Learn surgical procedure concepts to develop innovative customer-focused solutions.
Create SLA prototype models to evaluate new design concepts.
Evaluate manufacturability and suggest design/process adjustments and quality improvements.
Engage in selection, development, and testing of tools, fixtures, machinery, and equipment used in manufacturing.
Collaborate with design, engineering, process, and production teams to meet quality, productivity, and cost targets.
