We are seeking an innovative R&D Engineer to play a key role within a Product Design team, leading the development and commercialization of new packaging products from initial concept through production launch.
This is an excellent opportunity for an engineer who enjoys combining hands-on product design, AutoCAD/SolidWorks, manufacturing, tooling, and direct customer interaction. You will transform customer concepts and requirements into manufacturable products while ensuring designs meet performance, quality, cost, and production objectives.
Lead new product development from concept through commercialization and production launch.
Create detailed 2D engineering drawings and 3D models using AutoCAD and SolidWorks.
Work directly with customers to understand requirements and ensure design and specification compliance.
Conduct product and manufacturing feasibility assessments.
Develop, build, test, and validate prototypes.
Design and develop tooling packages and oversee tooling procurement, commissioning, and qualification.
Perform product sizing and capacity calculations for new designs.
Develop and maintain engineering drawings, product specifications, and technical documentation.
Manage customer specifications, revision control, and product lifecycle documentation.
Troubleshoot manufacturing and product-design challenges.
Support continuous improvement of manufacturing processes and existing product designs.
Inspect and verify GD&T using calipers, micrometers, height gauges, profilers, and CMM equipment.
Partner closely with customers, manufacturing, operations, quality, and engineering teams.
Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Industrial, Chemical, or Manufacturing Engineering.
2+ years of related engineering experience.
Strong AutoCAD and SolidWorks proficiency.
Strong engineering drawing and product design experience.
Knowledge of GD&T and dimensional inspection techniques.
Experience translating customer requirements into manufacturable designs.
Strong customer-facing communication, problem-solving, and cross-functional collaboration skills.
Ideal background: Product design, new product development, tooling, packaging, or high-volume manufacturing.
