Job summary

Hensley Industries, a subsidiary of Komatsu North America, is seeking an embedded R&D Engineer to advance GET detection and monitoring systems in a hands-on role in Dallas, Texas. You will explore ViT/CNN implementations, write and review code for data collection and image processing, and collaborate across teams to drive prototype testing and field validation.

The role requires 3+ years in R&D/mechatronics, 2+ years with Creo Parametric, and strong Python/Git experience.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or equal / similar.
  • 3+ years of experience in R&D, product development, and mechatronics related engineering work.
  • 2+ years of experience in 3-D design, solid modeling, and assemblies using Creo Parametric is preferred.
  • 2+ years of experience with building, testing, and utilizing Vision Transformers and/or Convolutional Neural Networks.
  • 2+ years of experience writing, revising, testing, and reviewing code, preferably in Python.
  • 1+ years of experience using Git, GitHub, or similar version-control tools.
  • 1+ years of experience planning and executing design of experiments, lab tests, and field tests.
  • 1+ years of experience with sensor data collection, filtering, analysis, and troubleshooting is preferred.
  • 1+ year of experience with camera systems, image processing, computer vision, CNNs, Vits, or machine learning is preferred.
  • Must be proficient in Microsoft Office.
  • Strong communication and problem-solving skills. Ability to work with minimal supervision and in a team environment.
  • Must be detail-oriented and able to present technical data clearly.
  • Ability to complete assignments within due dates.
  • Ability to travel in the US and to foreign countries on occasion.

Job Overview
