Job summary

Sandia National Laboratories seeks early career R&D Systems Engineers with an electrical engineering background for the W80-4 Life Extension Program and Transition to Stockpile. Join a diverse team and contribute to design, verification, and integration of critical defense systems, with opportunities to mentor and influence program deliverables.

The role requires onsite work 100% and up to 25% travel, with extensive collaboration across groups.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent in a relevant discipline and ability to obtain a DOE clearance.
• Ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. DOE Q-level security clearance.
• Experience with system-level electrical integration, verification, and production activities.
• Familiarity with engineering tools such as PSpice, Cadence/OrCAD, DxDesigner, MATLAB, Simulink, C/C++ and Python.

Responsibilities

• Develop system-level design architecture to integrate components and subsystems.
• Lead test planning to verify requirements and qualify hardware.
• Collaborate on maturation of requirements for areas or components.
• Lead integration activities with other engineers and product teams.
• Provide technical solutions for critical design elements.
• Present at technical design reviews.
• Conduct or assist with cost account management.
• Represent Sandia on multi-organizational project teams.
• Travel up to 25% to support the mission.
