Job summary

Thermo Fisher Scientific is seeking an R&D – Electrical Engineering Technician in the Technology Center to provide hands-on support for rapid prototyping, builds, testing, and reliability evaluations of cold storage and laboratory equipment. You will collaborate with R&D engineers to instrument, test, and iterate prototype electrical systems throughout the NPD process.

Qualifications

• Associate degree in Electrical Engineering Technology or equivalent preferred.
• 3+ years hands-on experience in electrical/electronic technology.
• Experience with lab test equipment and wiring diagrams.

Responsibilities

• Build, wire, modify, and troubleshoot prototype electrical/electromechanical systems for cold storage and lab equipment.
• Assemble electrical test fixtures and control panels for engineering evaluation.
• Perform soldering/rework of components and modify prototype units per drawings and safety practices.
• Set up and conduct electrical, functional, performance, and reliability tests per procedures.
• Document test setups, results, and observations for engineering decisions.
