ABB in the United States is seeking an electrical engineer to contribute to R&D activities in Grid Components. The role involves working on mechanics, electronics, thermal and software tasks from concept to implementation and testing, with limited supervision.

You will apply standards and drive quality, schedule and cost targets while collaborating with cross‑functional teams. A Bachelor's in Electrical Engineering and 2+ years of experience are required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent professional experience in medium-voltage systems.
• 2+ years of electrical engineering experience in an R&D environment.
• Fluent English communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Work as an independent contributor in R&D projects with limited supervision.
• Perform tasks across mechanics, electronics, thermal and software from concept to design, implementation, integration, testing, transfer or maintenance.
• Understand and apply relevant processes, standards, guidelines and requirements including architectural and design constraints.
• Drive targets for quality, time, scope and cost and address risks.
