Job summary

Scorpion Therapeutics in Bothell, WA seeks a Director-level EH&S leader to provide technical authority in industrial hygiene for R&D operations. You will lead a global EH&S Community of Practice, represent R&D to enterprise EH&S, and establish above-site reporting and metrics.

You will guide exposure assessment, containment, and engineering controls while advising senior leaders on practical IH solutions that balance risk with business needs.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in IH/OH, chemistry, engineering or related.
• 10+ years IH/EHS in life sciences/regulatory environments.
• Director-level leadership across multiple sites.
• Ability to lead in matrix environments without solid-line authority.
• Knowledge of OSHA/EPA/ACGIH biosafety across US/international jurisdictions.

Responsibilities

• Serve as principal IH authority across sites: anticipate, recognize, evaluate, and control exposure hazards.
• Lead exposure-assessment programs (air, surface, monitoring) and interpret vs. OELs/OEBs.
• Lead hazard control banding for potent compounds and high-hazard biologics; define containment and PPE.
• Oversee engineering controls/ containment verification and IH sign-off.
• Lead global EH&S CoP and set standards, tools, and best practices.
• Advise senior leaders on IH solutions balancing risk with business needs.
• Establish EH&S reporting and metrics across R&D sites.
• Explore and implement AI to support EHS processes and risk assessments.
• Lead incident investigations and communicate lessons learned.
• Collaborate with BD/M&A on EH&S due diligence.
