Job summary

Ultipro is offering a hands-on engineering internship in Maryland to support the R&D Design & Testing team with laboratory and testing facility improvements. You will design and commission lab infrastructure, create CAD models, and document layouts and drawings.

Ideal candidates are engineering majors (mechanical, aerospace, mechatronics, industrial, or materials) at junior, senior, or MS level, comfortable with lab environments and CAD tools, and proficient in Excel with VBA/ Matlab interest.

Qualifications

• Majoring in Engineering (Mechanical, Aerospace, Mechatronics, Industrial, or Materials preferred).
• Juniors, Seniors, or MS students preferred.
• Comfortable working in hands-on laboratory/testing environment and using shop and power tools.
• Experience with 2D and 3D CAD required; Autodesk Inventor preferred but not required.
• Strong interest in facilities, laboratory infrastructure, continuous improvement, or manufacturing systems.
• Proficient in Excel; advanced knowledge of Excel VBA, Matlab, or similar programming language preferred.

Responsibilities

• Work with BAC's R&D Design & Testing team to support laboratory and testing facility improvement initiatives.
• Support the design, build, and commissioning of laboratory and test infrastructure.
• Create and update CAD models, layouts, drawings, and project documentation.
• Assist with equipment installation, testing, troubleshooting, and startup activities.
• Collect, analyze, and report project and operational data to support engineering decisions.
• Support facility improvement and continuous improvement projects across multiple engineering programs.
